The beach has a fever. All aboard the blimp to Huntington.

Sitting in the bamboo bleachers, did you guys see the whale?

In between volleyball games we drank gallons of chocolate milk. They hooked us up to electronic muscle stimulators and explained to us the benefits.

*

Behind the Surf City Diner kids full of potato chips catch sand bass and put them in a bucket.

*

The man with the chicken on his shoulder doesn’t believe in bait. He hasn’t caught a thing.

*

We bought a skeleton kite and set it loose right away. It flew to San Diego and then it fell to earth.

*

How about some Angel games? That young man is selling tickets by the side of the road.

*

Pride and joy. There is so much happiness about the largest surfboard in the world.

*

The daybed lined with Los Angeles Times 1984 Olympics editions is a good place to enjoy fresh cola and fish.

*

Barefoot on a wooden penny board, carving the sandy ground of Walnut Street, heading towards the beach, but stopping by the post office first.

*

And here at Huntington Beach, we are saved.

*

Maybe next Manhattan Beach, maybe even Malibu. At night we’ll go to one other beach, and then we’ll go to sleep.
